Goldendoodles, a Great Family Companion
Goldendoodles are fast becoming one of the most sought after hybrid dogs, they are a cross between a purebred Golden Retriever and purebred Standard Poodle. Like most poodle crosses Goldendoodles are very light shedding dogs which makes them perfect for families with mild allergies.
Goldendoodles are intelligent and friendly, they are also eager to please which makes them easier to train. Just like their Golden Retriever and Standard Poodle parents Goldendoodles are good with children, other dogs and pets, are devoted to their family and get along well with strangers.
The average weight can range anywhere from 60 to 85 pounds and the height about 20 to 24 inches at the shoulder depending on the size of the parents. While the truly golden Goldendoodle is the most popular and expensive color they can also be found in cream, chocolate, apricot, blond, black and even party.
Goldendoodles have beautiful long coats that are soft in texture and can be wavy, straight or curly. While some may have curlier coats than others, a typical coat is soft, fleecy and full. The Goldendoodle would be an excellent choice for a family companion.
