The Puggle is a cross between a Pug and a Beagle and is still a relatively new hybrid, the first one ever bred was in 2000 by breeder Wallace Havens, owner of Puppy Haven Kennels. Havens is the biggest breeder of Puggles according to the American Canine Hybrid Club (ACHC) he was the first to register a Puggle litter with ACHC, and as the originator he was allowed to name the mix.

Puggles are a very good natured, social, and affectionate breed that gets along well with children and other pets which makes them an excellent family companion. Puggles are stout, robust dogs that can easily take a bit of rough play with the kids. Many puggle owners will point to their endearing personality as one of their best traits.
